A legend among modern military watches, the Casio Pathfinder features a titanium band with a unique double push button for a secure fit.  The casio features what they call a “triple sensor”, which somehow seems to measure more than 3 things (see more about this below!).

As someone who partakes in long hiking trips lasting a series of days, I often need to be able to see my watch at night.  Many watches feature a backlight to see, but fall short of “easy to read”.  The Pathfinder features a very nicely lit back light that wont strain your eye just trying to read.  It’s also very nice to look at.

 

 

 Altimeter

An altimeter is the perfect tool to use in conjunction with a topographical map.  The human perception to elevation can easily be skewed, so having hard numbers to put to a map really help.  To be practical without wasting battery, the altimeter only updates every 2 minutes.  With up to 25 data sets available, you can track your journey, set bookmarks, or even alert yourself with an alarm when you reach a predetermined altitude.

 

 

Barometer

An incoming storm is almost always accompanied by a drop in barometric pressure.  If you’ve ever been  hiking or otherwise out in the wilderness, you know how important it is to have shelter ready before a storm.  In the mountains, the hills obscure storm clouds, so its hard to see an incoming storm.  Displaying the last 24 hours of barometric pressure data,  this is where your Casio Pathfinder’s barometer comes in handy.  The past data is important because pressure is relative, and a reference is required to notice a drop in pressure.

 

Solar Panel

The Pathfinders solar panel is able to charge inside from artificial light, and not just sunlight.  A second battery is used as the rechargeable source.  This is one of the watches where you don’t have to worry about killing the battery.  A feature to look at in military watches; is self sustainability…and this is the ultimate.

Not much to be said here.  Simple and to the point.  With the barometer feature and thermometer, become a one-man weather station.
